Schaefer's Spouter Tavern

Stop into Schaefer’s Spouter Tavern for a casual indoor or riverside lunch in the heart of the Museum’s seaport village—alongside the 1841 whaleship Charles W. Morgan. Modeled after classic 19th century seaport taverns, Schaefer’s Spouter Tavern is an authentic recreation built by the Museum in 1956. Take in the tavern’s classic touches, such as the wooden doors, windows, flooring, wainscoting, bar, benches and fireplace, which all hail from the Central House Inne in Stoddard, NH, circa 1833. Menu selections include hearty sandwiches, salads, and soups, beverages, and a full bar service, including an array of refreshing local beers on tap.
